Today, we shall look at two more success tips for 2007. The second tip for success in the year 2007 is to overcome the fear of failure.
Anthony Robbins once said ‘I’ve come to believe that all my past failure and frustration were actually laying the foundation for the understandings that have created the new level of living I enjoy’.
I believe that most people have the impression that successful people never fail. Hence, most people condemn failure and fail to pick themselves up after they have failed. They simply lose faith in life once they fail and stop fighting.
This is a huge misconception which have ended many people’s dreams and stopped many from driving forward. The truth is, everybody fails at one point or another. In fact, the more successful you are, the more likely you would have failed many times in your life.
There’s a difference between the highly successful individuals and underachievers. Those who have managed to achieve high level of success are able to turn failure into success.
Similarly, many of the wealthiest individuals have managed to bounce back from failures and even bankruptcy. Donald Trump, the real estate mogul is one of them. Steve Jobs, current CEO of Apple Computers is another example. In 1983, he was sacked from Apple, the company he co-founded. However, he went on to start his own company and was eventually reinstated as CEO of Apple in 1995. After that, everything was history as he spearheaded Apple to their current success today.
There are many examples of people bouncing back from failure and it is this ability that differentiates the rich from the poor. In the past, people shun and condemn those who have failed. Today, people tend to trust and rely more heavily on those who have failed and managed to pick themselves up.
In Singapore, everything is so nicely planned by our government and everything is so organised. Hence, everyone seems to fall in this comfort zone and we are afraid to really venture out of it. Thus, I feel we’re too afraid to pursue our dreams and goals due to the risk of failure. I believe this applies even more to those who holds a secure job. Many graduates are simply afriad to seek their dreams for fear of losing their high paying job.
However, I believe this mentality has to change in order to be successful.
The bottomline is, do not be afraid to fail. See failure as merely feedback that will serve to enrich our learning experience and make us a stronger person in the future.
Success Tip #3 - Avoid Procrastination
Now this is undoubtedly one of the no.1 killer to success. Just ask yourself this question, ‘How much has procrastination cost you over the years? Have you missed out on a great opportunity, only to kick yourself later, watching someone else take advantage of it?’
How many times have you not managed to achieve something you’ve always wanted due to procrastination?
People always procrastinate over things they ought to do but do not procrastinate over things they should not do.
When it comes to watching the lastest movies or tv shows, or buying that branded bag, people do not even think twice about procrastinating. But when it comes to writing the assignment which is due soon or reading that self-improvement book, people always have no qualms about procrastinating.
Hence, in order to be successful, we’ve got to learn the difference between good procrastination and bad procrastination.
We need to show some determintation and committment in our daily tasks in pursuit of our dreams and goals. And the best way is to know exactly why we want to achieve our goals. In my eBook, I mentioned the importance of ‘why’. If you know your ‘why’, your driving force is automatic and you need little reminder or motivation. Hence, know why you want to achieve your goals and let procrastination be history.
Even if it means watching less TV or spending less time shopping with your friends, you’ve got to be willing to put in the sacrifice for success.
This brings us to the concept of good procrastination or better known as delayed gratification. Surely, there’s a time for us to really enjoy and reward ourselves. BUt we got to learn how to procrastinate over these.
Yes, by all means enjoy and have fun, but only after you’ve completed what you need to do. Everytime you want to buy that branded bag, procrastinate over it and wait till you’ve worked hard enough and deserve it before buying it. Similarly, wait after you’ve finished your assignment before watching that TV show.
Do not let procrastination hinder your success. Most importantly, recognize you have the ability to throw procrastination away this very instant and be determined to do so. Practise delayed gratification. It will not only bring about greater success and wealth, it will also make the gratification that comes even more meaningful and sweet.

Year 2006 is coming to an end soon. To me, it has been a great year for me as I’ve managed to bring myself out of my comfort zone and take massive actions towards my dreams and goals.
It has been a great year of learning and growth for me and I certainly look forward to another year of purpose in year 2007. I’ve picked up several success tips from severaly self-improvement books I’ve read and I would like to share with everyone.
Hence, in this success tips series, I’m going to share with everyone some success tips which I feel everyone should adopt in order to make 2007 a year to remember for all of us.
1. Set Empowering & Clearly Defined Goals
There’s this famous example about a research done at Yale University in 1952. In the research study, it was found out that only 3% of the graduating batch of students had set for themselves clearly defined goals. On the other hand, the remaining 97% had no idea what they really wanted in life.
Twenty years later, a follow up study was done and a shocking truth was revealed: The combined income of the 3% of students who had clearly defined goals was actually more than the combined income of the remaining 97% of students.
This is by no means coincidental. I’ve gone through several stories of the most successful people in the world and they all knew exactly what they wanted since a young age. Tiger Woods made a bold statement when he was only eight years old that he was going to become the world no.1 golfer. And look where is he now?
There are tons of other examples of similar success stories like his, and the similarity is these people all set clearly defined goals. Now by this I’m not referring to your normal new year resolutions. I myself have set tons of those only for them to be forgotten.
You’ve got to set goals that will truly stretch your limits and empower yourself towards attaining huge success. And you have to review and evaluate your goals constantly to ensure you remain on track towards achieving them.
One good formula I’ve learnt is the S-M-A-R-T Goals Formula:
One of the main reasons people do not achieve what they want is because they are not definite about what they want. You’ve got to make sure that the goals you set are clearly defined and specific.
Do not set vague goals like ‘I want to make more money’. Well, this could mean making a few dollars extra, a few hundred dollars extra or even a few hundred thousand dollars extra. Unless you know how much more money you want to make, you will never be able to develop a realistic action plan to achieve your goal.
Hence, instead of saying you want to make more money, set a goal of ‘earning an income of $5000 per month’ for instance.
If you can’t measure your goals, you can’t manage it. Hence, choose a goal with measurable progress, so you can see the change occur.
An example will be I want to lose 2Kg by February.
You should establish concrete criteria for measuring progress towards the attainminet of each goal you set. When you measure your progress, you stay on track, reach your target dates, and experience the exhilaration of achievement that spurs you on to continued effort required to reach your goals.
Now, by this I’m not suggesting you set goals that are easily attainable. In order to really stretch yourself and bring about greater success, you’ve got to set goals that are able to challenge and excite you.
The reason why people are not often motivated to their goals is because the goals they set do not excite them. Thus, in order to ignite the passion and fire in yourself, you’ve got to set challenging and inspiring goals.
Nonetheless, you’ve got to make sure they’re exciting yet attainable. If they’re not attainable, one would simply give up.
Once again, this is not a synonym for ‘easy’. Realistic, in this case, means ‘do-able’. In order for your goals to be realistic, you’ve got to devise a concrete plan that will ensure that you’re able to achieve them.
Hence, you have the ability to make your goals realistic. Just be sure to set the bar high enough for a satisfying achievement and formulate a consistent action plan.
However, unrealistic goals include changing the forces of nature or trying to change the science of how things work. So be sure not to fall into the trap of setting unrealistic goals.
By this, it refers to setting a timeframe for your goals. You’ve got to set a deadline by which you want to achieve a certain goal.
If you do not set a time, the commitment is too vague. There’s no sense of urgency and you will tend to procrastinate. Chances are, you will simply forget about that goal as you’re not compelled to take action.
Hence, always set a deadline that will force you to start immediately and stick to your deadline!
So there you have it! The S-M-A-R-T formula for creating empowering goals. So what are you waiting for? Start setting clearly defined goals for 2007 and I’m sure it will be a meaningful & purposeful year to come. Write it down and stick it on your wall so that you will be reminded of them every single day! Visualize yourself achieving those goals and think about how you would feel if you were to achieve them?
With that, I shall leave you to setting your own goals and I shall continue with my success tips tomorrow. Good luck and have fun setting your goals!

Dec 25th is coming.. Christmas that is.. The day which celebrates the birth of our Saviour.
For this year’s xmas, things may not be so well as we wld all like. With the increasing risk of terrorist threats and other tragedies striking, it makes one wonder abt the significance of this yr’s xmas.
Nonetheless, X’mas is still a day to mark the birth of our Saviour. In the midst of all e tragedies and confusion that is going around, we still have alot of things we should be thankful for.
I understand it can be hard to appreciate what we have when we’re not happy with our lives, but once again, it’s all about what we focus on and what we attract. The more appreciative we can be about our existing circumstances, the more we will attract things to appreciate.
As you go about your day, take a moment to appreciate everything you can, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem. Over time, this puts you in a gratitude mindset and will begin to attract more and more things to appreciate - and more often than not, those things continue to get bigger and bigger the more you keep up with this practice.
Thus, whatever your plans are for this year’s X’mas, I really hope u have an enjoyable Xmas. But while u are enjoying, take this day to remember the people around you and who have been part of your life some way or another.
It could be your parents, siblings, friends, spouse, neighbour, or even the security guard protecting your house. Take this day to show your gratitude to them.
I feel that we often have this tendency to take one another for granted. Myself included. We sometimes get too caught up with our pursuit for success that we don’t even bother to slow down and express appreciation for ppl around us.
Honestly, it costs nothing simply to smile, say thank you or I love you. Hence, let your loved ones know how much u care for them and start displaying your gratitude from today onwards! This small little things really makes a difference in others’ lives and can indeed brighten someone else’s day.
So let this day be a day of celebration which is filled with love and appreciation. Regardless of who u are spending it with, or where you are celebrating, I wish you have a blessed and wonderful christmas ahead! Merry X’mas!

In this post, i shall discuss more about what the eBook “7 Ways To Earn Money Online” which my gf and I are in the midst of writing is about.
Now if you ppl have not watch the video, you can do so at http://calvinwoon.com/7ways. More than 500 ppl have watched the video and I have received several favourable comments.
So what inspired me to write the book in the first place? Well, around 3 months back, i stumbled upon this book written by Adam Khoo, ‘Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires’, whereby he detailed several money making strategies. That was when i learnt the importance of creating multiple streams of income and also the potential of making money online.
Inspired by what i’ve learnt, i went on a massive 3 months of research, at the same time juggling my studies. I was shocked at what I discovered: Ppl are creating online businesses based on simply their passions and earning money from the comfort of their own home. They are no IT experts, mind you. Even grandmothers are making money from their online businesses.
I slowly uncovered several more possible income streams you could create online and thus decided to share this information to ppl from all walks of life. Now i understand most ppl are skeptical abt making money online and have several doubts abt their own IT skills.
Not to worry, as in my eBook, I will attempt to dispel some of your doubts and provide tons of resources that you one wil require on building for themselves passive streams of income online.
Hence, stay tuned for my book launch! Do not worry, its completely free!Tag:Dreams, Goals, Income, Internet, Money, Online, Success, Wealth

Yeah.. I know.. It’s no big deal.. But my close frens will know that I’ve passed it on my Xth attempt. Thus, this means a lot to me.
Thus, with my driving license, I shall be more motivated to work towards buying my first car.
The best thing was, Patricia was there to wait for the good news. The moment I stepped out of the car, I saw her. Thank God I passed the test. Well, I was exceptionally nervous this time round. Cos I know if I were to fail again, all of frens are really going to have a good laugh.
But once again, God answered my prayers and I’m so thankful for that.
Will definitely be looking forward to driving my dad’s car for the time being. But as I said, my driving license shall be one of my motivation for me to work towards my goals and dreams.
